RAITE 2024
(Reflection Blog)
The
Regional Assembly on Information Technology Education (RAITE) 2024 was
initially set for October 24, 2024, at Angeles University Foundation in Angeles
City, Pampanga. However, due to Typhoon Kristine, the event was postponed to
November 4, 2024. Featuring a range of competitions and challenges, this
assembly fosters skill-building and knowledge-sharing among IT students and
professionals in the region.
Attending
the Regional Assembly on Information Technology Education (RAITE) 2024 was an
inspiring experience that emphasized the importance of skill-building and
collaboration among IT students and professionals. Teams from various schools gathered to
participate in a range of competitions and challenges, and our dance team was
thrilled to be part of it, giving our best effort to proudly represent our
school. In
addition to the competitions, there were speakers who discussed the latest
advancements in AI technology. Their insights provided us with a deeper
understanding of the impact AI is having across various industries and
emphasized the importance of staying ahead in this rapidly evolving field.
Although
we didn’t win, being able to compete alongside so many talented teams was an
honor. We dedicated significant time and effort to rehearsing and preparing our
choreography, and we accepted the results gracefully, admiring the deserving
winners. This experience has motivated us to continue improving, and we’re
excited about future opportunities to showcase our skills and school spirit.
The organization of RAITE 2024 was efficient, especially considering the challenges posed by Typhoon Kristine. The rescheduling was communicated clearly, allowing participants to adjust their plans without much inconvenience. On the day of the event, the activities were well-structured, with smooth transitions between segments, and the event staff were helpful and responsive. The inclusion of insightful speakers on AI technology provided valuable takeaways for future application.
For future activities, it would be beneficial to consider improving the venue’s temperature control, as it became quite warm during the event. Ensuring better air circulation or providing cooling systems would make the environment more comfortable for participants. Additionally, having more seating available would help accommodate everyone more comfortably, especially during breaks or when attendees are waiting for the next activity. These improvements could enhance the overall experience and ensure that everyone can fully participate without distractions.
Overall, though, it was a wonderfully organized event, and the team did a fantastic job!
